We respect the importance of your privacy while using the Body1 Network. Body1 is a healthcare Web site devoted to new technology and treatments. We understand that you learn about these treatments for yourself or on behalf of someone else. What information do we collect? We do not automatically collect the full email address of visitors to our site. We only obtain information when you provide it to us through a registration process or when you post to the site. We do collect the names of the sites that referred you to Body1, but this information is not linked to any personal information. We collect the IP number which may be linked to the domain names (for example Body1.com or bu.edu) of a visitor's server. How do we use the collected information? Body1.com solely owns the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information in any way other than what we disclose in this statement. Body1.com collects information from our users at several points on our Web site so that we can improve our Web site and determine the number of visitors to each page. We aggregate this information and then analyze it to determine the number of users per day and part of the site that they visit. Sponsors of our site may receive aggregated information about site visitors. This information will be stripped of identifying information. If you as a visitor leave our Web site and link to a sponsor's Web site, you should read the new site's privacy policy. Registration In order to use parts of this Web site, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration a user must to give his or her contact information (such as name and email address). We only use this information to contact the user about services for which they have expressed an interest. The user may have the opportunity to provide demographic information (such as income level and gender), but we encourage the user to provide this information in order to provide a more personalized site experience. Order We currently have no plans for commerce on this site but should we change this policy, we will follow the following procedure. We request information from the user on our order form. On the form a user must provide contact information (such as name and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit-card number and expiration date). We use this information for billing purposes and to fill customers' orders. If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information helps us to get in touch with the user. Cookies A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing user information. Usage of a cookie in no way links any personally identifiable information of a site visitor. Once the user closes his or her browser, the cookie simply terminates unless the user has specifically opted to have his or her password saved. Newsletter If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and e-mail address. Surveys and contests Occasionally, our site requests information from users via surveys, polls or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code and age level). We use contact information to notify the winners and award prizes. We use survey information to monitor or improve the use and satisfaction of this site. Tell-a-friend If a user elects to use our referral service to inform a friend about our site, we ask them for the friend's name and e-mail address. Body1.com automatically sends the friend a one-time e-mail invitation to the site. Body1.com stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email. The friend may contact Body1.com at Support@Body1.com to request the removal of this information from his or her database. Security This Web site takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the Website, we protect your information both online and off-line. When our registration form asks a user, or if the user volunteers, to provide sensitive information in the forums section (chat areas) we store this information in a secure manner. A user may opt not to have his or her name or e-mail displayed during a chat or "ask a doctor" session, but we will ask a user to register to participate. In our offices, we restrict all of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above. We only grant access to employees who need the personally identifiable information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative). Our employees must use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to regain access to the user's information. Furthermore, we keep all employees up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Special Offers We send all new members a welcome e-mail to verify password and username. Established members will occasionally receive information on products, services, special events and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our users, we present the option to decline these types of communications. Site and Service Updates We also send the user site and service-announcement updates. Members cannot unsubscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the service. We communicate with the user to provide requested services regarding issues relating to their account via e-mail or phone. Correction/Updating Personal Information If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as his or her zip code), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update, or remove that user's provided personal data. Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter or our partner's promotional materials may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying to unsubscribe in the subject line of the email or they can e-mail us at Support@Body1.com. Notification of Changes If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our homepage so our users always know what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we would notify users by e-mail. Teen Guidelines We may design some sections of the Body1 Network specifically for use by teens under the age of 18. Contact information such as their names, email addresses, and demographic information, such as their zip codes or ages, may be requested in those sections. In such cases, we will notify teens to obtain permission from their parents before providing such information. Fibroids1.com does not disclose personally identifiable information about users under 18, regardless of whether an approval is obtained. Information about users under the age of 18 may be shared with third parties on an aggregate basis. Parents and those permitting minors who use the Body1 Network should be aware that any information voluntarily given by teens in chat sessions, email exchanges, forums, etc., may be used by third parties to generate unsolicited mail or other contact with children. Children's Policy We are committed to protecting the privacy of children. You should be aware that this site is not intended or designed to attract children under the age of 13.
