BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, LIFE SCIENCES

We are currenly seeking an individual who will generate revenues. The Business Development Manager (BDM) will successfully generate the level of business required, the BDM also needs a high level of consultative sales sophistication and a track record of closing sales from Life Sciences clients in the recent past. This position may grow to a leadership role if multiple 6-figure deals are closed, thereby requiring a team to support additional revenue opportunities. The BDM will be given equity ownership in the company commensurate with their success.

Responsibilities

Responsible for a first year revenue target of $1,000,000 and all sales activities, including developing new business, managing and maintaining new and existing accounts assigned within the defined area.

  • Responsible for an account development plan
  • Support marketing initiatives to Life Science manufacturers
  • In charge of the presentation of client reports and program metrics and the development of appropriate ROI models
  • Drive additional sales with Life Sciences clients who have previously purchased Body1's products and services
  • Fully elucidate the client's organizational chart with Sales, Marketing, Business Development, e-Business, and IT groups clearly delineated
  • Identify key client decision makers regarding budgetary decisions
  • Develop a robust sales pipeline

    • Clients: Assess needs, establish trust, educate, set expectations, and keep in touch with busy clients
    • Projects & Technology: Need to be flexible and insistent as a client advocate with internal project managers, and stay up to date on all aspects of client projects as well as new product/feature development
    • Management: Need to escalate appropriately and work well with entire team
  • Energetic, dynamic personality
  • Supportive with clients in need of 'consultative' sales process
  • Superior communication skills
  • Detail-oriented - experience managing complex projects needing regular monitoring
  • Top performer in prior sales/business development positions
  • Understands computers, the Internet, and the benefits of e-Learning and media programs relative to the healthcare industry's needs for: Sales Training, and Medical Education
  • Persistent, positive, and determined

Specific Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required - MBA preferred
  • 5+ years selling to Life Science Manufacturers with promotions and significant progression in a Consultative Sales, Account Management or Business Development Role within a Medical Education, Communications, or Advertising Agency. Alternatively, product or marketing managers from the Life Sciences Industry with sales experience will be considered. Successfully able to close deals ranging from a minimum of $20K to over $500K.
