Senior Business Advisor: Martin M. Coyne II
 

Marty Coyne

Martin M. Coyne II took early retirement from the Eastman Kodak Company in July 2003. He joined Kodak in 1986 via the acquisition of Sterling Drug, and served most recently as Executive Vice President, Eastman Kodak Company and Group Executive of the $9 billion Photography Group. In October 2000, he was named Executive Vice President of Eastman Kodak and President of the $6 billion Commercial Business Group. In September 1995, he was named Senior Vice President of Eastman Kodak and President of the Health Imaging Division.

In addition to his diversified imaging experience at Kodak, he has almost 30 years experience in the healthcare industry, including the establishment and operation of his own healthcare consulting business, M.M. Coyne and Associates. He has also held numerous positions in sales, sales training, advertising, marketing, international marketing and general management.

Mr. Coyne currently serves as Senior Business Advisor to Body1. He holds a number of other industry leadership positions. Currently Marty serves as Lead Independent Director for Akamai, a publicly traded, global on-demand computing platform provider. He is an advisor to Investcorp, a private equity investment firm and serves on the Board of Directors of Avecia Group Plc., one of their companies. He is also a member of the board of OpenPages, a leading provider of enterprise governance, risk and compliance management (GRCM) solutions that optimize internal controls, reduce risk exposures and empower effective corporate oversight.

Mr. Coyne previously served as the Chairman of the Board of Welch Allyn and also was a member of the Board of Directors of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), serving on the Executive Committee, International Committee and Membership Committee.

Mr. Coyne earned a B.S. degree in Pharmacy from Fordham University in 1971, an MBA degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1985. He also attended the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of Business in 1989.

Kenton Edelin has been an attorney for 12 years, representing professional athletes for the past seven. Mr. Edelin holds a BA and JD degree from the University of Virginia, where he played collegiate basketball, including in the 1984 NCAA Final Four. He also played for the Indiana Pacers NBA basketball team.

Dave Fleming Dave Fleming is the Group Senior Vice President and a Corporate Officer of Genzyme Corporation. He is responsible for Genzyme Diagnostics, which manufactures more than 200 diagnostic products. He brings over 30 years of general management, sales and marketing responsibility in healthcare with emphasis on diagnostics, therapeutics, global business development and public policy. In the Greater Boston area, Dave Fleming co-founded MassMEDIC, HealthPoint and the New England Bone and Joint Institute. Nationally Dave is a member of the board of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed). Mr. Fleming holds a BA from the College of Wooster (Ohio) and an MBA from Pepperdine Unniversity.
 
Business Advisor: Rebecca Lobo
 
Rebecca Lobo is one of the premiere athletes in women's sports and recently retired from the WNBA's New York Liberty. Rebecca's accomplishments include captaining an undefeated University of Connecticut team that won the NCAA women's basketball championship and being named the 1995 National College Player of the Year. She also won a gold medal as part of the 1996 USA National Women's Basketball team and has co-written the book "Home Team" about her mother's battle with breast cancer. Rebecca also serves as a national spokesperson for Body1. Due to her recurring problems with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), Rebecca campaigns to raise awareness of knee injury risks in women. Rebecca shares her story with other people suffering from the same type of injury and strongly advocates patient self-education via the Internet.
 
Business Advisor: Lisa Lopez
 
Lisa Lopez is Sr. Vice President, General Counsel and Clerk to the Board of Directors of The Haemonetics Corporation, a $300 million manufacturer of blood processing equipment. Her responsibilities at Haemonetics have included regulatory affairs, product submissions, regulatory compliance, investor relations and external affairs. Prior to Haemonetics, Lisa was an associate at Sullivan & Worcester concentrating in civil litigation with emphasis on employment law for corporate clients, including Haemonetics. Lisa currently serves on several boards and committees, including the New England Legal Foundation, MassMEDIC, AdvaMed's Blood Sector Working Committee and the Center for Policy, Women & Families, and Employ+Ability. She holds a BA from Ohio State University as well as a JD from Yale Law School.
 
Director: John Ludden, M.D.
 
Dr. John Ludden, M.D. Dr. Ludden is Associate Clinical Professor at Harvard Medical School (Department of ambulatory care and prevention). As a recognized leader in health care, he has contributed significantly to the industry's work on quality improvement. In his role as the Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care (Boston, MA) he had responsibility for health policy and federal legislative affairs. He was instrumental in the development of "Putting Patients First" for the Board of the American Association of Health Plans.

As Corporate Medical Director of Harvard Pilgrim he formed the quality improvement department, the system of clinical quality management, and began the development of clinical and disease management programs. As a key member of the Group Health Association of America (now AAHP), he helped launch the National Committee for Quality Assurance.

Dr. Ludden currently serves on several other boards and committees, including the:

Prior to his work at Harvard Pilgrim, he was the Director of the Alcohol Clinic at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital. He has been a practicing psychiatrist for more than 26 years. Dr. Ludden is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School. After interning in medicine at the University of Washington Hospital, he completed his residency training in psychiatry at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center. He is also a graduate of the program for management development at the Harvard Business School. Dr. Ludden was previously featured as a Body1 Health Care Hero.

David McLachlan is a professional director and corporate advisor. He serves as the corporate director at Alpha Industries Inc., Aronex Pharmaceuticals, Dyax Corp. and Hearx, Ltd.. Mr. McLachlan served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Genzyme Corporation from 1989-1999. He currently is a part-time consultant to the Chairman and CEO of Genzyme. Mr. McLachlan is currently the Director and Treasurer of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council. He holds a BA and a MBA from Harvard University.

Chris Messina The team is led by Christopher ("Chris") Messina, a medical industry entrepreneur. His whole professional career has reflected his commitment to improving healthcare. He was a founding director of the Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council where he served three terms. He also previously served three terms as a director and membership chair of the Harvard Business School Association of Boston. He is a corporator of the Harvard Medical School-affiliated Mt. Auburn Hospital. Previously he was CEO of General Orthopedics, Inc., a developer/manufacturer of medical devices to treat fractures and crippling deformities, and prior to that, a consultant to the US Congress, Office of Technology Assessment on international biotechnology. Henri A. Termeer Henri A. Termeer is President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of Genzyme Corporation, founded in 1981. With more than 3,800 employees (2,500 in Massachusetts), Genzyme has manufacturing facilities, research laboratories, and sales and marketing offices worldwide.

Mr. Termeer earned worldwide recognition for his contributions to the biotechnology industry and for his expertise in financing new initiatives. He serves on the board of directors of Abiomed, Inc.; Diacrin, Inc.; GelTex Pharmaceuticals; and Genzyme Transgenics Corp. He serves as a trustee for Hambrecht & Quist Health Care Investors and Hambrecht & Quist Life Sciences. He is on the board of associates of the Whitehead Institute, the Genetics Advisory Council of Harvard Medical School, and the Dean's Advisory Council of MIT/Sloan. Additionally, Mr. Termeer serves on the board of directors of both the Biotechnology Industry Organization and PhRMA, the pharmaceutical trade organization.

Mr. Termeer actively participates in public service as a trustee for the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and the Boston Museum of Science; he is also a member of the Massachusetts Governor's Council on Economic Growth and Technology, and the Massachusetts High Technology Council. Numerous organizations have honored him, among them the Anti-Defamation League's New England Region, which awarded him the Torch of Liberty Award. He is also the recipient of the International Institute of Boston's Golden Door Award, the Genetic Disease Foundation's Humanitarian Award, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
